Jack Lyons-Owner/Head ChefJack is a fourth generation Nevadan with a bachelor's degree in business from the University of Nevada, Reno. In 2003, Jack and his partner at the time Mike Sylvester, started Men Wielding Fire out of their passion for fine food, barbecue and pure fun. Today, Men Wielding Fire has taken off like wild fire catering weddings, corporate events, private parties, large sporting events and casual to elegant affairs. Jack has two young boys and has been married to his wife Betsy for 18 years. |

Josh Polon-Owner/Executive ChefJosh is a second generation Nevadan born in Reno. He began working for Jack at age 19 in the retail service industry as a metal fabricator and designer. After 9 years, he changed careers and went to work as a Nurseryman. In the interim, Josh and Jack remained friends. In 2002, Jack asked Josh to come back and run the retail service business, Jack Lyons, Inc. While running Jack Lyons Inc., Josh helped Jack and Mike design and build their commercial kitchen and grow Men Wielding Fire. Mike Sylvester took Josh under his wing and taught him the barbeque secrets and techniques that have made Men Wielding Fire famous. After falling in love with the art of barbequing, Josh furthered his knowledge of the culinary arts. Eventually, Jack asked Josh to join the partnership and help bring the freshest and highest quality of food service catering possible to clients throughout the Western United States.

Betsy Lyons-BakerBetsy is a native Californian with a bachelor's degree in business. She trained as a pastry chef at the California Academy in San Francisco and the Culinary Institute of America at Greystone in Napa Valley. She turned her passion into a successful pastry business and opened a long-awaited bake shop in downtown Reno. After the birth of her first son, she closed the shop and focused on her family, baking only for private parties. Now, after the birth their second son, she prepares the desserts for Men Wielding Fire.
